Update gender after neutering
When you add a neutering product to an animal's record, Vetocare may immediately ask you to update the animal's gender. Depending on the animal and the configuration of the gender field, you can choose from three options: an automatic suggestion, a drop-down list, or a text field.
When does the notification appear
The notification appears immediately after adding a product marked as a neutering product. No notification appears if the animal is already registered as Neutered male or Spayed female.
Automatic suggestion
If the animal is registered as male or female, Vetocare automatically suggests the new gender: male becomes Neutered male, and female becomes Spayed female.
Check the suggested gender.
Confirm the change with Confirm.
Choose gender from a list
If the current gender is missing or is neither male nor female, choose the new gender from a drop-down list containing Neutered male and Spayed female.
Select Neutered male or Spayed female.
Confirm the change with Confirm.
The notification remains open without a valid selection.
Enter gender manually
If the gender field is configured as a text field, enter the new gender yourself.
Enter the new gender in the text field.
Confirm the change with Confirm.
An empty field is rejected; the notification then remains open.
Check in the animal record
After confirming, you can check the updated gender in the Gender field in the animal record.
Close the notification without changing
Select Cancel to close the notification without changing the gender. The existing gender remains unchanged, and the neutering product remains added to the record.
