Change invoice layout
Adjust the layout of your invoices via Settings > Invoice layout: margins, fonts, the position of blocks such as the logo and client details, table headings, and custom CSS. The saved layout is used for the preview and for invoices created afterward; invoices that have already been sent retain their own layout.
Before you start
The Invoice layout page is only visible to users with permission to manage invoices or practice settings.
Adjusting the invoice layout
Go to Settings > Invoice layout. The setting is located in the Invoices section of the settings overview.
Adjust the settings for each block (see below for what each block does).
Click Preview. A new tab opens with a preview invoice, so you can see the changes immediately.
Save your changes. The message Changes saved. appears at the top.
What you can configure for each block
Block | Settings |
|---|---|
Invoice | Margins (mm) for the top, bottom, left, and right, plus font settings for the entire invoice |
Practice logo | Position: align left or right |
Client | Position (left or right) and margins in pixels |
Practice details | Position: align left or right |
Invoice number | Font settings for the invoice title |
Invoice details | Position: align left or right |
Table headings | Font settings for the headings of the invoice table |
Advanced | Custom CSS, added to the style of the printed invoice |
Hiding the logo and setting a background image for the invoice are not done on this page, but in the general settings. See Set up practice logo.
Font settings
Each font setting consists of the same fields: Font, Size, Style, Line height, and Color.
Font: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Courier New, Lucida Sans, or Times New Roman
Size: 9pt, 10pt, 11pt, 12pt, 18pt, or 24pt
Style: Normal or Bold
Line height: 1, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2, or 2.5
Restore the default branding
Click Delete and confirm with Delete in the dialog box to restore all settings to the default branding. This deletes the saved layout and custom CSS. The invoice background image and the setting to hide the logo are not deleted.
Would you rather adjust the invoice number format instead of the layout? You can do this on an invoice itself; see Invoice number format.
