Open a WhatsApp link in WhatsApp Business or WhatsApp
Whether the WhatsApp button for an online intake opens in WhatsApp Business or the regular WhatsApp app is determined on the device itself. On Android, you can set WhatsApp Business as the default for WhatsApp links; on iPhone, this choice is more limited.
Android: Set WhatsApp Business as the default
On Android, you can choose which app opens WhatsApp links. Select 'Always allow' for WhatsApp Business and 'Don't allow' for the regular WhatsApp app so that the intake link always opens in WhatsApp Business.
Open Settings and tap Apps (or Apps & notifications).
Find and tap WhatsApp Business.
Tap Open by default (or Default apps).
Tap Open supported links and select Always allow.
Repeat this for the regular WhatsApp app and select Don't allow there.
The three options are Always allow, Ask every time, and Don't allow. With Ask every time, you choose which app opens each link. Selecting Don't allow for the regular WhatsApp app prevents the link from opening in the wrong app again.
If the system keeps asking which app you want to use for every link, select Always for WhatsApp Business.
iPhone (iOS): Limited options
On iPhone, there is no system-wide setting that lets you choose WhatsApp Business as the default for WhatsApp links. When both apps are installed, iOS first opens the regular WhatsApp app and then offers the option Open in WhatsApp Business.
Apple does offer a general default app setting (Settings → Apps → Default Apps → Messaging) that lets you choose which app opens chat links. This option is available in the European Union and only works for apps that support this feature.
If you use only one of the two apps, or if you are not signed in to one of them, remove the app you do not use. This prevents the wrong app from opening and displaying a login screen.
WhatsApp or WhatsApp Web
Vetocare sends the intake using a single WhatsApp link that opens in the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Web, depending on what is available on the device or in the browser. There is no separate button for WhatsApp Web; the same link determines where it opens.
