Classifying products (human, euthanasia, castration)
You can mark a product in Vetocare as Human, Euthanasia, or Castration. Human automatically enables inventory management and batch numbers for the product; Euthanasia and Castration do not. In the Expiry overview and Inventory history, you can then filter by Human and Euthanasia.
Classifying a product
The classifications are located in the prescribing section of the product form, next to the Narcotic, Antibiotic, and Cascade fields.
Open Products and create a product via Add product, or open an existing product.
In the prescribing section, select the desired classification: Human, Euthanasia, or Castration.
Save the product.
Inventory and batch numbers
When you mark a product as Human, Narcotic, Antibiotic, or Cascade, Vetocare automatically enables Inventory item and Use batch numbers. You can disable these settings again yourself afterward: if you set Inventory item to No, Use batch numbers is automatically disabled. Euthanasia and Castration do not enable these settings automatically.
Batch numbers remain available only as long as inventory is enabled.
Warning for existing products
The product form displays a message stating that the use of inventory and batch numbers is automatically enabled based on the information entered. Because you can disable these settings yourself after saving, they are not mandatory for a classified product.
Filtering overviews by classification
Both the Expiry overview and Inventory history have the Human and Euthanasia filters under the Properties filter group. This lets you display only products with that classification.
Open Products and select Expiry overview or Inventory history.
Under Properties, select the Human or Euthanasia filter.
View the filtered results.
There is no Castration filter in these overviews. To view the inventory history of a single product or apply an inventory adjustment, go to Adjustment history and Adjust inventory (adjustment).
