On the first tab, enter the product’s basic details and units.

In the Product units section, set the Sales unit, Quantity per packaging unit, Packaging unit, Quantity per ordering unit and Ordering unit.

On this tab, set the purchase price, sales price and VAT group.
Purchase price — the price at which the product is purchased.
Cost price per unit — the cost price per unit of the product.
Pricing method — select Set price manually to enter the sales prices yourself, or Using a price margin to calculate the sales price automatically based on the cost price. When using a price margin, the manual sales price fields are read-only.

Fixed surcharge — a fixed surcharge added to the price calculation.
VAT group — the VAT rate applied to this product. You can add different rates in the settings. See Manage VAT rates.

Euthanasia — marks the product as an euthanasia product and also enables Inventory item and Use lot numbers. When adding it to an animal, you can immediately mark the animal as deceased.
Castration — marks the product as a castration product. When adding it to an animal, Vetocare may ask you to update the animal’s sex.
For more information about the classifications and their effect on inventory and lot numbers, read Classify products (human, euthanasia, castration).
Inventory tab
The Inventory tab is displayed only for main products, not for product variants. Here, specify whether the product is inventory-managed and how inventory is tracked.
Inventory item — indicates whether this item is inventory-managed. If you set this to No, the inventory fields and lot number options are hidden or disabled.
Use lot numbers — enables lot number registration for this product. See Lot numbers for products and inventory.
Minimum inventory and Unit — the minimum inventory level and the unit in which it is counted. If the current inventory falls below this level, the number turns red and the Low inventory indicator appears in the product overview.
Order quantity and Unit — the product’s fixed order quantity and the unit in which it is counted.
Storage location — where the product is stored, such as a warehouse, cabinet or drawer.
Workflows tab
Link workflows to the product here using Add workflow. For a new product, you can only link workflows after saving the product; before that, you will see the message Save the product first to link workflows.
Save the product with Save to add it to your inventory system.
